

Accommodations for Deaf / Hard of Hearing Students
All students in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program have an IEP, Individual Education Plan, a plan written by the parent and the school that details goals for the student and specific methods used to reach those goals.
Accommodations that may be listed on the IEP specifically for deaf or hard of hearing students might include:
assistive devices, such as listening and alerting systems teacher notes
note-taking paper (carbonless) guided outline (note taking)
behavior contracts assignment sheets
demonstration teaching peer tutoring
TTY's for telephone use video phones for telephone use
captioned videotapes / films / TV abbreviated assignments
alternative materials interpreter / transliterator
preferential seating modified test format
specific test
environment
